Forthill made it 1-1 but Blackness were back in front a minute later. Some fantastic finishes but also some superb saves from the Forthill keeper to warm up a chilly afternoon for the spectators.
Dundee beat Fife 5-1 in the U15 National Trophy. There was little between the teams in the first half and it was Fife who took the lead in the 19th minute from a Dundee corner - Dundee had a few attempts to score from the corner but Fife broke away at speed and made it 0-1. Nine minutes later Dundee were level when Josh Holt hit a corner from the left which curled onto the far post and crossed the line for 1-1. Six minutes later JoJo Harris was first to react when the Fife keeper could only parry a fierce shot from Harry Welsh and JoJo finished for 2-1 in 35 minutes.
Four minutes into the second half Harry Welsh was put through just inside the box and stretched to send a shot past the keeper into the net for 3-1. It stayed 3-1 for 20 minutes then Dundee set about increasing the score - a great run from Matthew Mudie came to an end just at the corner of the box but the ball broke free to Josh Holt who rifled it past the despairing keeper into the back of the net for 4-1. Five minutes from time with all the subs on Finlay Simpson crossed from the left and at the end of the very slick move it was Calvin Beattie who thumped the ball into the far corner to wrap up the scoring at 5-1. Dundee top the group with 6 points from 2 games, Fife have 3 points from 2 games and Aberdeenshire have 0 points from 2 games. Aberdeen have still to kick a ball but play Fife on 18th January so we look forward to organising a trip to Aberdeen in January.

Dundee beat Aberdeenshire 3-1 in the Senior National Trophy at Westhill. Aberdeenshire played well in the first half and though Dundee hit the post from close range it was the home team who led 1-0 at the break thanks to a great strike from 25-30 yards into the top corner once they intercepted a loose pass. As the forecast heavy rain was just about to start at the beginning of the second half, it was Dundee's improved performance which turned the game. The pressure finally paid off when Lewis Boylan sent Owen Stirton through to steer the ball past the keeper for the equaliser. Rio Bradford then rifled in a shot from distance to ripple the net for 2-1, a strike just as good as Aberdeenshire's goal in the first half. While the weather got worse, Dundee's hold on the game got better with good performances all round. Dundee clinched full points with a third goal late in the game from Kyle Duncan who broke down the right to finish off the game and secure a semifinal place as all the subs got on for a taste of the rather wet action. After beating Aberdeen ten days ago, Dundee top the group of 3 with the maximum of 6 points out of 6. Aberdeen play Aberdeenshire on the 25th to see who ends up second but Dundee and can relax till after Christmas to see who they play in a semifinal. Photos below unfortunately reflect the conditions as it got wetter as the game went on - so some camera fail is ensured.

Grove beat Woodmill HS 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the U13 Shield 2nd Round in Dunfermline and are now home to Monifieth or Perth Grammar. In a close game there were not many clear-cut chances until late in the 1st half when Woodmill took the lead without touching the ball - a Grove backpass was hit a little too hard for the keeper to deal with and the ball rolled over the line. Grove pressed hard in the second half and eventually struck a shot from 25 yards high over the keeper but under the bar for 1-1. Woodmill had a good chance to win with time running out but Grove cleared off the line superbly. In the penalty shoot-out Woodmill skied their first kick over the bar then the next seven penalties all went in. Woodmill needed their last kick to go in and hope that Grove might slip up with their final kick but Woodmill missed the target again so the 10th kick was not needed as Grove celebrated.
