St.John's beat Harris 8-4 in the Arab Trust U15 Champions League. A fantastic game at St.John's started and finished with long-range strikes from St.John's, both sides serving up tremendous entertainment and great goals. St.John's took the lead in two minutes with a ferocious strike, but Harris were soon level and with 15 minutes gone latched onto a great through ball to outpace the defence and go 2-1 up. After half an hour St.John's grabbed an equaliser and in the last 5 minutes before the break added two more to lead 4-2. Harris started the second half with the wind at their backs and straightaway reduced the leeway with a shot over the keeper to trail 4-3. St.John's scored next and midway through the half Harris nicked a corner in at the near post to give them some hope. It stayed 5-4 for over 10 minutes until St.John's grasped the nettle with 8 minutes left and scored three goals in 5 minutes, the last one a vicious 30-yarder which nearly burst the net. The 8-4 win for St.John's sets up a league decider against Grove on Tuesday in the last game of the season. Well done to both teams for a superb showing. See photos.

A penalty early in the second half for a foul near the edge of the box gave Grove the opportunity to double the lead but the kick went high and wide. Harris then used the wind to their advantage to hit 4 goals and take the championship to the wire with one game v. St.John's left to play.

St.Ninian's hit back eventually with 4 goals to lead 4-1 at halftime. Both teams traded goals in the second half, St.Pius pulling back to 4-2, St.Ninian's making it 5-2 before St.Pius scoring again for 5-3. A superb strike from St.Ninian's took it to 6-3 and another for good measure finished the scoring at 7-3. Very entertaining from both teams.

Fintry beat St.Joseph's 4-1 in the Junior Sports Cup Final. Alan Domeracki (Fintry) won the Bill Ferrier Man of the Match Trophy for his 4 goals and excellent sportsmanship. Fintry took an early lead and soon doubled it to 2-0. St.Joseph's reduced the arrears to 2-1 before Fintry netted again to make it 3-1 at the interval. Lots of effort and skill from both sides in the second half but only one goal, Fintry adding a 4th to wrap up the win and complete a good couple of days, adding the Junior Sports Cup to Wednesday's Thomson Cup. See photos.
Wednesday 13th June
St.Joseph's beat St.Francis 7-2 in the Fairtrade Football Rock Cup Final (sponsored by Walker the Jeweller). St.Francis scored first but St.Joseph's scored some crackers to lead 3-1 at halftime. St.Joseph's kept the pressure up in the second half and scored some more good goals. St.Francis never gave up and pulled one back near the end. Scott Small, the St.Francis keeper, impressed with some good blocks and saves and won the Nick Marra Man of the Match award. See photos.
Forthill beat Barnhill 5-4 in the Burgess Cup Final. A superb final which ebbed and flowed and was not decided till the final whistle. Barnhill grabbed an early lead but Forthill were soon level, 1-1. Barnhill then went 2-1 up but Forthill struck twice to go into the lead for the first time but by halftime Barnhill levelled for 3-3. Early in the second half a Barnhill handball gave Forthill the chance to go 4-3 up from the penalty spot but Barnhill equalised to make it 4-4. The end-to-end game was decided ten minutes from the end when Forthill scored their 5th. See photos.

SS Peter & Paul beat Birkhill 3-1 in the Cameron Cup Final. Lucas Gasowski (SSPP) won the Stephen Gowans Man of the Match Trophy, presented by the Gowans family.
Primary Final week kicked off in good style with four good teams and two entertaining finals at Elliot Road. St.Joseph's opened the scoring in the first game and with a 4-0 lead looked like they were in easy street. But Tayview had not given up and scored twice to put the pressure on to St.Joseph's who had to play well to see the game out for the win and retain the Linton Cup. The second final proved to be one of the best games seen at Elliot Road for years. SS Peter & Paul scored twice going down the slope in the first half but were rocked in the second half when Birkhill had a shot parried and thumped home the rebound for 2-1. With over 15 minutes left to play it was now anybody's game and both keepers were forced into great saves to keep their team in it. The game was in injury time when SS Peter & Paul hit a shot from wide on the left which hit the far post and bounced in for 3-1. This finally settled the result in favour of SSPP. What a game! Let's hope the rest of the finals are like this. See photos.

In the last of the Secondary Finals played on a warm sunny evening at Broughty Athletic's Whitton Park Grove opened the scoring going down the hill and doubled it after a foul near the edge of the box by the keeper gave Grove a penalty. A third goal soon followed with a low shot into the far corner. After the interval Grove breached the Monifieth defence twice more to go 5 up. Tuesday 5th June
Forthill beat Mill of Mains 5-0 in the Burgess Cup Semifinal and play Barnhill in the final.
Dundee won the Primary Inter-Association Sevens after a good Day 3 at Toryglen in Glasgow. It is the first time since 2004 that Dundee has won the Primary Inter-Association Sevens when it was a totally different format, being played as a one-day competition before Christmas leading up to the old 11-a-side Primary Cup in the spring. This is the first time since the introduction of the 3-day format (2 on astroturf, 1 on grass) that Dundee has finished top.
With Dundee leading by a single point from East Ayrshire after the first two days, it was all to play for on Day 3 and both the A and B teams started well with two wins. The As started like lightning with three quick strikes from Derryn Robb, Greg Petrie and Ethan Horne before Edinburgh A pulled one back, so a 3-1 win for the As. On the next pitch the Bs scored twice through Ryan Dunwoodie and Lewis Craik to beat Glasgow A 2-0. The As then fell behind to two goals from Glasgow B but fought back with goals Derryn Robb, Greg Petrie and Alan Domeracki to win 3-2. The Bs also won their second match, Ryan Dunwoodie and Scott Constable netting to beat Edinburgh B 2-0.
In the third game the Bs went down 2-0 to East Ayrshire A, while for the As Derryn Robb and Greg Petrie continued their good scoring form to register a 2-0 win over Perth & Kinross B. One point would be good enough for the As in the last group game to go through in top place and two goals from Greg Petrie secured a 2-2 draw against East Ayrshire B. The Bs scored a consolation goal through Scott Constable but lost 2-1 to Perth & Kinross A to finish the group in 3rd place. In the final crossover games the As conceded an early goal against a good Perth & Kinross A team when the ball rattled off the bar and bounced down over the line for the only goal of the game. The Bs hit an early strike in their crossover game when Ryan Dunwoodie beat the Glasgow B keeper at his near post - the Bs held on to this goal to run out 1-0 winners.
Though Perth & Kinross who missed the first day of the tournament topped the points on the day with 18, Dundee's 15 points were good enough to finish as champions, with East Ayrshire amassing 10 points, Edinburgh 7 and Glasgow 6.

Fintry beat Barnhill 5-1 in the Junior Sports Cup Semifinal and face St.Joseph's in the final. Barnhill opened the scoring midway through the first half but their joy was cut short half a minute later when a Fintry shot took a wicked deflection off a defender and looped into the net. After a hard-fought first half with a 1-1 scoreline it was Fintry who moved up a gear to add 4 goals and claim a place in the final. With one goal deciding the recent league match between Fintry and St.Joseph's it should be a good competitive final. See photos.

Eastern beat Downfield 5-2 in Arab Trust DSA Section D. Downfield led 1-0 at halftime, Eastern levelled soon after the break but Downfield soon regained the lead. With the wind at their backs Eastern grabbed an equaliser and went on to seal full points in an entertaining game. Photos to come.
Forthill beat Craigiebarns 6-4 in the Junior Sports Cup 1st Round and now play away to St.Joseph's.
Harris beat Morgan 8-0 in the DSA U13 League. After a fairly even first half Harris went up a gear in the second half to ensure the win.
Mintlaw Ac. beat Grove 9-0 in the U15 Girls Shield 1st Round. The visitors scored after a minute and with a strong wind behind them were well ahead at halftime, the Mintlaw keeper only touching the ball once. Mintlaw's sub keeper who came on at the interval was called into play more often as Grove used the wind to apply some pressure, however the only goals scored in the second half were all netted by Mintlaw who go on to face Perth Grammar in the 2nd Round. See photos.
Monday 4th December
St.John's beat Glenwood HS 4-0 in the U13 Shield 2nd Round and now play Harris away in a local derby.
Thursday 30th November
Dens Road beat Our Lady's 6-2 in the DSA Arab Trust Small Schools League. A flurry of snow accompanied a flurry of goals at the start of the game at DISC with Our Lady's twice taking the lead but Dens Road equalising almost immediately. So after about 5 minutes it was 2-2 then Dens Road added two more to make it 4-2 at halftime. The snow had stopped for the second half but so did the goals, as the Our Lady's keeper made some great saves. Our Lady's had chances as well but Dens Road had most of the pressure and scored another couple of goals late on to tie up the game at 6-2. See photos.
North won both games in the U15 Girls Triangular Tournament at Station Park in Forfar. The opening game was a 0-0 draw between East and South-East, then North beat South-East 3-0. East started with a gift of a goal from North to lead 1-0 in the last game but North were stronger on the day and scored twice to win 2-1 and finish in first place. East are second and South-East are third. All the teams will play a further game at Toryglen in January. See photos.
Harris beat Craigie 9-1 in the Arab Trust U16 League. It was an even game for the first quarter but Harris were well on top in the second half. See (a few) photos.
St.John's beat Queen Anne HS 4-1 in Dunfermline in the U16 Shield 3rd Round and now play home to St.Andrew's & St.Bride's HS.
Wednesday 29th November
Barnhill beat Ballumbie 6-1 in the Junior Sports Cup 1st Round and now play St.Francis. See photos.
Fife beat North of Scotland 6-3 in the last U15 National Trophy game in Group 2 in Dingwall. This means Fife win the group on goal difference (+1) ahead of Dundee (0) and North of Scotland (-1). Dundee will be away to the winner of Group 3 which will not be decided until Lanarkshire play West Lothian next Wednesday 6th December. The winner could be Ayrshire, Forth Valley or Lanarkshire. Update - Ayrshire win the group.
Tuesday 28th November
Forthill beat Claypotts Castle 7-2 in Arab Trust DSA Section D.
Dundee A and B enjoyed a good day out at Toryglen in Day 1 of the Primary Inter-Association Sevens. With just 4 Associations taking part on Day 1 the A teams all started with a game against their squad-mates in the B team. The As started with a 4-1 win over the Bs (Millar Gibson, Alan Domeracki 2, Greg Petrie scoring for A, Ryan Dunwoodie scoring for B), then continued with a 2-1 win v. Edinburgh A (Greg Petrie 2), a 4-0 victory v. Glasgow A (Greg Petrie, Derryn Robb, Millar Gibson, Alan Domeracki) and then beat Edinburgh B 3-0 (Alan Domeracki, Derryn Robb, Harley Tierney). A short break for lunch disrupted the rhythm a little as the As went down 3-1 to Glasgow B who had lost all four of their morning games (Millar Gibson), but they recovered to beat East Ayrshire A 2-0 (Alan Domeracki, Derryn Robb) and draw the last game 1-1 v. East Ayrshire B (Derryn Robb). The Bs recovered well from the defeat v. the As with a 2-1 win v. Glasgow A (Samuel Harding 2), a 3-2 win v. Edinburgh B (Lewis Craik 2, Samuel Harding) then a creditable 1-1 draw against East Ayrshire A (Samuel Harding). They must have had a heavier lunch than the As as the first game after the break was a 1-0 defeat to East Ayrshire B, followed by a 2-1 loss against Glasgow B (Samuel Harding) but finished with a 1-1 draw against Edinburgh A (Keir Bertie). The As finished 1st out of the 8 teams, with the Bs finishing 6th. At the end of the day it is East Ayrshire who lead with 13 points, Dundee are just behind with 11 points, Glasgow lie third with 9 points and Edinburgh are in fourth place with 3 points. Perth & Kinross will join the competition on Day 2 which will be indoors in late February or early March, with Day 3 finishing the competition on the grass at Meggetland in Edinburgh in May. See photos.
