Dundee beat North of Scotland 3-2 in the U15 National Trophy Semifinal at RPC in Caird Park. In the final Dundee will play Forth Valley who beat Aberdeen 5-1 today in Alloa. Dundee took the lead in 6 minutes when Ryan McInnes hit the left post and Ross Clark knocked in the rebound, 1-0. Joy was short-lived as North equalised a minute later from a corner, 1-1 (7m). Dundee went back in front after a penalty was awarded for a push in the back - Stuart Heenan netted from the spot, 2-1 (21m). In the second half North dominated the early part and levelled again for 2-2 (53m). As the game wore on Dundee gained their second win and several substitutions were made in an attempt to avoid the inevitable lottery of a penalty shoot-out. After several attempts just wide of the target it was Stuart Heenan who secured the win with a great goal, winning a challenge on the left wing, drifting in through several defenders into the box and firing in a low shot from 16 yards past the keeper for the late winner, 3-2 (77m). Not the easiest of games against a good North of Scotland team but a National Trophy semifinal is not going to be easy, and Dundee can look forward to a final for the first time since 2014.
Baldragon beat St.John's 4-1 in the Arab Trust U16 League. Baldragon led 2-0 at the break but St.John's pulled one back at the start of the second half. Thoughts of a comeback were dashed by two more goals from Baldragon.
