St.Andrew's & St.Bride's HS beat St.John's 6-5 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the U16 Shield 4th Round. The East Kilbride team went ahead early in the game but two good goals from moves on the right gave St.John's a 2-1 lead at halftime. The visitors fired an equaliser in the second half and went back in front after a corner was not cleared at the far post. St.John's levelled again near the end when they took a quick free kick after the keeper had picked up a backpass. In the penalty shoot-out St.Andrew's & St.Bride's scored their first kick but St.John's fired wide. Both sides scored their next two kicks then St.Andrew's & St.Bride's hit the post while St.John's scored to level it up at 3-3 after 4 kicks each. Both teams scored their next two and the pressure was always on St.John's. St.Andrew's & St.Bride's scored their 7th kick to go 6-5 in front and St.John's hit the frame of the goal so the visitors won an exciting contest at DISC.

Friday 15th December
In the second day of the U15 Girls Triangular Tournament at Toryglen in Glasgow it was the West team who finished top, ahead of South-West and Central. The first halves of all the games were played first with Central v. West 1-1 at halftime, South-West leading Central 1-0 and West up 2-0 against South-West. When the second halves got underway West took the lead against Central who scored a last-minute equaliser for 2-2. West won the penalty shoot-out 3-2 in case it all ended level, but ultimately this was not needed. In the second game South-West continued from where they left off against Central and increased their lead from 1-0 to 3-0. South-West needed goals v. West in the final game in order to finish first and started well with a goal to reduce West's lead to 2-1. West came good in the end with three goals to run out 4-1 winners.
So West ended first with 4 points, South-West were second with 3 points, Central were third with 1 point.
This means that in the crossover games on 9th January at Toryglen Central face South-East for 5th/6th place, East play South-West for 3rd/4th place and the final is between North and West.

Friday 8th December
Grove beat Monifieth 5-0 in the Arab Trust U16 League. A keenly contested local derby at Monifieth in the +1 degree sunshine saw Grove get into their stride early and hit three goals in the first half. The chilly wind which was the outer fringe of Storm Caroline increased in strength a little after the break and limited the Monifieth chances of getting back into the game, and two second-half goals for Grove put the result beyond doubt.
